Awareness Training

Study Description

The goal of this project is to provide the Army with a brief, well-validated, internet-based training program for the enhancement of various aspects of human awareness. Military personnel are subjected to dangerous and often stressful situations in which awareness is a key component in responding to adverse conditions. Through a series interactive and introspective lessons, activities, quizzes, and games, the program attempts to foster a better understanding of one’s abilities and weaknesses, and an increase in attentiveness to a number of features of one’s environment.

The goal of this study is to determine the effectiveness of various forms of internet-based awareness training for enhancing an individual’s internal and external awareness.

An Institutional Review Board responsible for human subjects research at The University of Arizona reviewed this research project and found it to be acceptable, according to applicable state and federal regulations and University policies designed to protect the rights and welfare of participants in research.
