The University of Arizona SCAN Lab is currently recruiting for a study on the effects of transcranial magnetic stimulation on insomnia. You may be eligible for this study if you:
1) Are 18-50 years old
2) Speak English as your primary language
3) Have no metal in your body (no plates, screws, posts, nonremovable piercings, or a copper IUD)
4) Have difficulty falling asleep
The study involves three total visits which include cognitive testing, MRI scans (where we take “pictures” of your brain), and sleeping for two nights at our lab. During your stay, you will receive one round of active transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and one round of placebo (sham) TMS. This means that electromagnetic fields will be used to alter activity in certain areas of your brain. Additionally, you will wear an activity monitor and fill out daily sleep diaries for a total of two weeks. The maximum compensation for this study is $500. If you are interested in participating, please fill out the study interest form below.
