Michael Strong

Research Technician

Michael Strong graduated from the University of Arizona in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in neuroscience and cognitive science with an emphasis in neurobiology, and a minor in philosophy, before joining the SCAN lab in April 2018. During his time as an undergraduate he also spent some brief periods volunteering in the labs of: Dr. Victor Hruby, Dr. Leslie Tolbert and Dr. Lynne Oland, and Dr. Stephen Cowen. Michael’s research interests lie in depression, attention, learning, the interplay between the central nervous system and the enteric nervous system, consciousness, the effects of glial cells on neural systems, and pharmacology. Outside of the lab Michael likes to enjoy playing music, watching stand-up comedy, learning about things, Magic the Gathering, and climbing about the wilderness.
