Mike graduated from the University of Arizona in 2015 with a Masters of Science in Neuroscience with focuses in Analytical Chemistry, Neurophysiology and Optical Engineering. His undergraduate work was performed at Trinity University and the University of Arizona where he achieved Bachelors of Arts in English Literature and Russian, and Bachelors of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Microbiology respectively. Mike has worked as a research assistant, technician and lab manager in the Department of Neuroscience in the College of Sciences at the UofA for 8 years. He has also worked as an EMT in the Emergency Department at Northwest Medical Center and in advertising in New York from the mid 1990s to 2004. Mike volunteers his time with neuroscience education for children from elementary through high school. He also works with local musicians and artists for the Southern Arizona Arts Council. In his spare time, Mike plays multiple instruments in bands, writes, hikes, and spends time with his family and dogs. Mike also cooks, enjoys karaoke, and impromptu dance parties with his daughter. Mike is a terrible dancer.
